A long stretch of Bodrogkeresztúr’s main street has been renovated in recent years; as part of this, the round, timber-framed pavilion next to the former synagogue was completed. The plots of land along the row of houses next to the high street – dotted with mansions, farmhouses of varying sizes and longhouses – once stretched all the way to the Bodrog floodplain; today, the embankment separates the wide, green field stretching for several kilometres beneath these plots from the river. The pavilion was built on a raised area next to the Stork Conservation Centre, which was converted from a former synagogue, serving both visitors to the centre and those spending their leisure time in the vast green park.
